Fighting Force 64
Reviewed by: Steven Heady

System: Nintendo 64
Type of Game: Action

Fighting Force 64 is not just another fighting game for the N64. It's an action game that allows up to two people go through cities, subways, and office buildings in an attempt to stop the "evil" Zeng. If you remember games like Streets of Rage, then this game will be very similar. It uses 3-D fighting to bring to you a great action game. The weapon use is spectacular. Crowbars, car engines, pop cans, and bazookas just to name a few. There are four different characters to choose from, each having their own unique style of fighting.

I liked this game, but it had a few drawbacks. In the two-player adventure, if the players go a certain distance apart, they seem to freeze up and it's really hard to control them. And you kinda loose focus on where your character is sometimes in the midst of a big fight. The game does tend to run a bit slow as well. And you can beat up your partner in the game too. This is a huge drawback, because no matter what, in some situations, you can't avoid hitting them. I beat this game, with a friend, in about 3 hours. So the difficulty obviously isn't really there.

Fighting Force 64 delivers a package that not too many 64 games have been able to do yet. It provides for a fun, well-rounded action game. Give it a try, you might find yourself liking it a great deal.
